Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Diabetic Retinopathy Project
in project agreement with
World Diabetic Foundation, Denmark Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib (C) Eye Hospital Trust Sohana has been chosen as a partner by World Diabetic Foundation, Denmark
with a view to Prevent Diabetic Retinopathy through outreach programme and to create general awareness of diabetes among people.
The project will run for three years (June 2007 to June 2010) and during this period the trust will discharge our responsibility assigned to us to
- train 500 medical practitioners
- train 1500 paramedical staff and nurses in patient education
- organize 90 camps
- screen 45000 people
- to detect 5000 Diabetic Retinopathy patients and to ensure that they have received treatment for free
in a phased manner for which WDF will grant us US $ 281,095 to be spent for this noble cause.
The funding agency will be WDF and our institute will run the project on behalf of WDF at local level. We at the Trust end will be spending the grant released by WDF in phases and as per norms defined by WDF; and we will not be gaining any profit out of this project. The purpose of Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib (C ) Eye Hospital Trust joining hands with WDF is solely for the noble cause and is a charitable task. |
