Sri Guru Harkrishan College of Nursing signs MOU with South Seas University New Zealand for direct B.Sc. Nursing programme
The famous Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Eye Hospital Trust Sohana earned a new feather in its cap when the Trust-run Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib College of Nursing signed MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with South Seas University of New Zealand for providing B.Sc. Nursing degree by New Zealand University while studying in India.
Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib College of Nursing, Mohali, Punjab and The South Seas University, Rarotonga, Cook Islands (NZ) agree that any student who has earned a Diploma in Nursing (GNM) from any institute with a License to practice Nursing in India may take admission to get Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree without any work experience. The duration of this B.Sc. Nursing degree is of one year only spread over three semesters.

The full course fee for the degree is very low, which includes
1. CGFNS/NCLEX training
2. IELETS Coaching
3. Assurance to provide job placement in hospitals in USA and Canada
4. Bachelor in Nursing Degree from South Seas University, New Zeland
The Academy of Medical Education and Research and Global Education Institute, Inc Canada are joint partners of this project to look after placement of candidates after successful completion of the course. Mr. Gurmeet Singh, secretary Eye Hospital Trust signed MOU as Dean on behalf of SGHS College while Dr Joshua Thambiraj, Chairman-South Seas University represented University while Col. Harjeet Singh of Academy of Medical Education and Research and Canada based NRI educationist and lawyer Mr. Udham Singh Tonk of Global Education Institute, Inc Canada jointly signed the agreement.
Khushwant Singh, Head of project described this as a big achievement for Trust as this MOU would help thousands of registered GNM qualified Nurses to upgrade their education to B.Sc. degree of international level and those who wish to go abroad. He hoped that this arrangement would be most economical and the Sohana college is all set to provide quality education to all students. |
