Founder Chairman-Bhai Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Khalsa Khannewale (Veerji) was not only a noble soul but also a visionary who always considered himself to be the servant of ‘Sikh - Sangat'.
Greatly inspired by the services of Bhai Ghanhya Ji, he had a deep desire to serve the humanity. In his pursuit to this, a dispensary was started in the Gurudwara premises in the year 1990. Large numbers of people were benefited by the free medical services provided and this prompted Veer Ji to start an eye hospital to provide world class eye care services in the region.
With the help of philanthropists from India & abroad and under the able guidance of Founder Chairman-Bhai Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Khalsa Khannewale (Veerji) and five trustees, the Eye hospital started functioning in the year 1995.The astounding response at the Eye hospital, further prompted him to provide more and more medical services. In pursuit of this, Dental wing stated in the year 1998 & the Multi specialty wing started functioning in the year 2002, since then it is providing quality medical & surgical services at affordable rates to the Poor and at reasonable rates to the masses. OPD fee is Rs. 10/- only & that too is not charged if a patient is unable to afford it.
Donations received from the philanthropists from India and abroad are utilized to procure sophisticated instruments and machinery for the up gradation of quality services being rendered at the hospital. After the sad demise of “Panth Rattan” Bhai Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Khalsa Khannewale on Oct. 14 th 2006 . Bhai Davinder Singh ji Khalsa-Khannewale was appointed Chairman of the trust, at the Daster Ceremony held on the occasion of Bhog Ceremony of Bhai Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji Khalsa Khannewale, by S. Avtar Singh- President Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, in the presence of Jathedars of the Holy Takhat Sahibs. |

"Bhai Devinder Singh Ji" is now the Chairman of the trust. Since childhood he nurtured a deep desire to serve humanity. He is of the firm opinion that honest work creates healthy institution & community life.
Dastar Ceremony of Chairman Bhai Devinder Singh Khannewale (the successor of Bhai Sahib Bhai Jasbir Singh Khalsa Khannewale) was held on the occasion of Bhog ceremony organized to pay homage to Bhai Jasbir Singh Khannewale after his death on Aug. 14, 2006, by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President, Jathedar Avtar Singh, in presence of Jathedars of Holy Takhat Sahibs.
Born on Dec 10, 1955 to father S. Beant Singh and mother Mata Charanjit Kaur, (Bhai) Devinder Singh, right from his childhood days, recognized an in-born quality in him to serve people around. Supported by religious thoughts and lust to serve humanity, he learnt Kirtan and strarted reciting Gurbani from his childhood days.
A sweet spoken and attentive listener, Bhai Sahib (now called as "Veer Ji' with respect) completed his studies of graduation with English, Political Science and Punjabi while studying in Khanna-his native place. Hailing from a Gursikh family, all through his life he has drawn inspiration from Sikh teachings.
He understands that honest work creates healthy institution and community life. He views, "Sharing with others, caring for the poor and needy, standing for freedom and justice, being grateful to God and working together in community for the good of all are the things that bring health, peace and prosperity." |
